Junge Liberale (Germany)

The Junge Liberale (JuLis) are the officially recognised, yet organisationally and financially independent, youth wing of the Free Democratic Party (FDP) in Germany. They were founded at the first federal congress in Bonn-Bad Godesberg on 1 November 1980 and today have around 15,500 members aged 14-34 across all sixteen federal states.

The JuLis are a federal association (*Bundesverband*) registered as an e. V. in Berlin.

• Bundeskongress - highest decision-making body, meets twice a year.
• Bundesvorstand - eleven-member national board elected annually; includes a dedicated International Officer.
• Landes-, Bezirks-, Kreis- and Ortsverbände mirror Germany’s administrative layers and enjoy considerable autonomy.
• Membership is automatic until the end of the calendar year in which a member turns 35; state branches set the monthly fee (typically €2-5).

JuLis are full members of IFLRY and LYMEC. They regularly send large delegations to IFLRY General Assemblies, LYMEC congresses and ALDE Party events.
